Lawrenceville Police responded to a report of a vehicle fire Tuesday morning, only to find a body inside after the fire was extinguished.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — Lawrenceville Police responded to a report of a vehicle fire Tuesday morning, only to find a body inside after the fire was extinguished.

In conjunction with Gwinnett County Fire Services Arson investigators, Lawrenceville Police are investigating the fire and body, which was found behind Village Bluff Drive in Lawrenceville at about 3:30 a.m.

Officers arrived and awaited the Gwinnett County Fire Department’s arrival to extinguish the fire. Once the fire was out, it was discovered that there was a body within the vehicle.

Investigators are working to identify the person and the car.

Police are waiting for more details from the medical examiner regarding the cause of death and identity.
