Woman's Gunshot To Head Determined To Be Murder: Police

After a woman's fiancé found her dead from a gunshot to the head Saturday, police say they're now investigating the case as a murder.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — After a woman's fiancé found her dead from a gunshot to the head Saturday, police say they're now investigating the case as a murder.

Denise Bukart-Haynes, 49, was found deceased in her home, at 831 Anna Ct, in unincorporated Lawrenceville Saturday when her fiancé discovered her body and called the Gwinnett County Police at 2:12 p.m. Police said there were no signs of forced entry to the home.

The Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Unit responded to process the scene. At the time, the cause of death was not ruled a homicide and the investigation continued, police said.

Sunday, at approximately 3:20 p.m., the Homicide Unit ruled the death a homicide. Due to the on-going investigation, no suspect information has been released.
