  1. This summer, the Bibb County property tax rate is expected to drop almost 30 percent but due to increased property values, home owners will not see a 30 percent decrease in their tax bill. Property values have increased in part due to inflation, including inflated home prices and the rising cost of building materials. (13WMAZ)
  2. Current Sheriff David Davis announced he will be running again for Bibb County Sheriff with the slogan, "Stronger Together." Davis was first elected in 2012, and if successful in this election he will begin a fourth term. The election will be held in May 2024. (13WMAZ)
  3. A local man, Johnny Carl Sanedfur, Jr. has pleaded guilty to one count of possessing a firearm as a convicted felon and one count of possessing an unregistered firearm for having a wallet gun. Police arrested Sanedfur on Nov. 3, 2022, on Skipperton Road in Macon after finding a .22 magnum derringer wallet gun, two knives, and methamphetamine on Sanedfur and another man. He faces a maximum of 15 years and his sentencing is currently scheduled for Sep. 6. (WSB TV)
