The sheriff's office will install about 150 cameras that will scan the license plate and take photos of every car on busy roads, and then the program will scan databases to check if the vehicle has been involved in a crime. If a car was involved in a crime in Georgia, the system will alert deputies. A $1.6 million grant will cover the program for three years. (Subscription: Macon Telegraph)
