Here are the top three stories in Marietta today:
- Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin visited Marietta for the Georgia Cherokee Community Alliance’s at-Large Meeting at Laurel Park. The annual event occurred on Saturday with hundreds in attendance. The Principal Chief was accompanied by two tribal council members. (Cobb County Courier)
- A Marietta teenager has mowed over 50 yards for those in the community in need of assistance. 14-year-old Henry Odell mowed the lawns for free by participating in the 50 Yard Challenge organized through the nonprofit Raising Men & Women Lawn Care Service. The lawns belong to the elderly, disabled, and veterans residing in our community. (CBS 46 News)
- The Marietta History Center will be screening The Lemon Street Chronicles. The screenings are to lead up to its Juneteenth celebration on Jun. 18. The Lemon Street Chronicles are a series of historical interviews with Lemon Street High School alumni — Marietta's segregated high school until 1967. (Cobb County Courier)
