• National Park Service to shut down access of private motor vehicles to top of Kennesaw Mountain (cobbcountycourier.com) — Starting January 6, private vehicles will no longer be allowed to drive to the top of Kennesaw Mountain, a favorite outdoor spot for many Marietta residents. Shuttle buses, cyclists, and pedestrians can still use the road, though intermittent closures through spring will occur for new striping and safety improvements aimed at easing conflicts on the steep, winding route.
   

• Duo Arpeggione at St. Catherine's Friends of Music Concert Series (eastcobbnews.com) — A free classical concert is coming to St. Catherine’s Episcopal Church on Holt Road in Marietta on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026, featuring the internationally acclaimed Duo Arpeggione. Pianist Catherine Lan and cellist Claudio Jaffe will perform a Romantic-era program including works by Beethoven, Chopin, and more, with open seating and donations accepted but no tickets required.
   

• 'My name is Klover, and I'm in need of a loving home!' (cobbcountycourier.com) — If you’re in Marietta and considering a new pet, Klover is a 1-year-old spayed female tabby/calico waiting at Cobb County Animal Services on Al Bishop Drive. The shelter explains its appointment-preferred system, walk-in options, and how locals can meet adoptable animals or reclaim lost pets.
