Here are the top three stories in Marietta today:
- The Caffeine & Octane car show will be held on Aug. 7 at Cobb County's Town Center in nearby Kennesaw. The car show is one of the country's largest monthly car shows featuring over 1,000 vehicles. The show will be from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Admission is free and vehicles are free to exhibit in open spots. (CBS 46 News)
- Cobb County is seeking input for its 2040 Comprehensive Plan update. The deadline to submit public comment is Friday, Jul. 29. The plan is a long-range growth strategy designed around the community and is meant to make the county an attractive place to work, live, and invest. Email comdevplanning@cobbcounty.org to submit a public comment. (Cobb County Courier)
- A local coach and nurse saved an umpire that collapsed during a baseball game on Wednesday in Marietta. The game was part of the WWBA World Championship. Coach Andrew Aschettino began CPR and nurse Rachel Cowan took over. Aschettino's team ultimately lost the game. It is not clear why the umpire collapsed. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
