🌱 County Pediatrician Assaults Paramedic + Ghost Gun Charges

Here are the top three stories today in Marietta:
- A Cobb County pediatrician apparently assaulted a responding paramedic during a dispute over the care of a child. Dr. Melvin Gerald Perry allegedly punched and swung an oxygen tank at the paramedic. The victim sustained a laceration to their left ear canal. Dr. Perry has been charged with felony willful interference with emergency medical personnel and misdemeanor battery. ( The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
- Steve Chayane Sanchez, 24, sustained critical injuries during a single-vehicle crash on Wednesday. The incident occurred on North Marietta Parkway around 2:35 a.m. Sanchez is being treated at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. The Marietta Police Department is currently investigating the incident. (Cobb County Courier)
- Three individuals have been charged with selling "ghost guns" in Marietta. A ghost gun is a homemade firearm that does not have a serial number. They become illegal when they are sold. Jelani Kazmende, Wiley Martin, and Robert Louis Jeffords Jr. were indicted by a federal grand jury in early July. (WSB Atlanta)
