Gateway Marietta CID Extends Contract For License Plate Cameras
The contract between the Gateway Marietta Community Improvement District and Flock Safety will continue into 2023.
MARIETTA, GA — The Gateway Marietta Community Improvement District (GMCID) extended its contract with Flock Safety through 2023 for its automatic license plate reading, or ALPR, camera system.
The GMCID, a self-taxing district established in 2014 by property owners for improving local infrastructure and public safety, and Flock Safety partnered in early 2019 to install four ALPR cameras throughout Marietta, according to a news release. The new contract, which was approved Feb. 22, will run through 2023.
The four cameras are the top-performing cameras within the city, according to Marietta Police Department Major John King. The four cameras average 44 hits per month and an 80 percent capture rate of stopping the vehicle and resolving the issue, per the release.
