Man Sentenced For Molesting Ex-Girlfriend's Young Daughters For Years: Cobb County DA

The victims, then ages 13 and 15, said their mom's ex-boyfriend sexually abused them since they were 8 and 9 years old, respectively.

COBB COUNTY, GA — A Cobb County man will spend the next nearly four decades in prison for molesting his ex-girlfriend's young daughters, the Cobb County District Attorney's Office said.

From September 2011 to March 2015, Brian Young was living with his then-girlfriend and her children in an apartment in Cobb County. While away at summer camp in 2018, the youngest daughter, who was 13 at the time, said Young was sexually abusing her since she was 8 years old, the DA's office said.

After forensic interviews and further investigation into the child's report, police found out Young was also sexually abusing the eldest daughter since she was 9 years old. She was 15 years old at the time of the investigation.

During the trial, the daughters testified that Young was sexually abusing them even after they moved to Paulding County.

Young was found guilty on two counts of child molestation last Friday, and Judge C. LaTain Kell sentenced him to serve 38 years in custody.

"Young took his sickness and infected everyone around him. I commend the bravery of these two young survivors for sharing their truth," Assistant District Attorney David Bailey said in a news release Wednesday. "Thanks to the jury, Young will now be held accountable for the egregious acts he committed."
