Former school district official claims retaliation after reporting misconduct (wsbradio.com) — A former Marietta City Schools administrator has filed a new lawsuit claiming she was forced out after reporting serious misconduct, including mishandling of student incidents and data. The former Marietta Student Life Center director says district leaders cut the center’s budget and her duties, affecting services like counseling, food support, and career help for local families.

2. Senior Center expansion, Tritt Park plans on SPLOST list (eastcobbnews.com) — Cobb leaders are weighing a nearly $795 million SPLOST project list that includes a new state court building on Marietta Square and replacing the Cobb Central Aquatic Center in Marietta. The plan also funds road resurfacing, East Cobb park expansions, and senior center improvements, with commissioners set to consider approving the list and later calling a countywide referendum.

3. 'My name is Rex, and I'm in need of a loving home!' (cobbcountycourier.com) — A 2-year-old terrier mix named Rex is currently available for adoption through Cobb County Animal Services at their Marietta shelter on Al Bishop Drive. The county has updated its visit policy, preferring appointments but still welcoming walk-ins for most needs, and requiring appointments only for owner surrenders. Locals can browse adoptable pets online and call with questions before visiting.

4. Atlanta Woman says Walmart shopper approached her, asking for help. Then she realizes she was duped: ‘I knew' (allhiphop.com) — Shoppers at the Walmart on Cobb Parkway in Marietta are warning others about a man who allegedly pressures people with a story about needing money for his grandmother’s groceries. A local TikTok creator says she gave him $30, and commenters report similar encounters at Marietta, Smyrna, and other nearby grocery stores. Residents are urging each other to be cautious about on-the-spot cash requests.
