Pedestrian Hospitalized After Being Hit by Car in Marietta

Fifty-nine-year-old man taking to Kennestone hospital after early Wednesday crash.

MARIETTA, GA -- Police are investigating a crash involving a car and a pedestrian early Wednesday on South Marietta Parkway near the CCT Bus transfer center in Marietta.

Marietta police responded to the incident about 7 a.m., the department said in a news release.

Police said Herbert Warner, 63, of College Park was driving a 2014 Nissan Altima when it collided with 59-year-old Michael Hicks of Atlanta, who was walking.

Hicks was not in a crosswalk when the accident occurred, police said.

Hicks was ticketed for crossing outside of a designated crosswalk. He is in stable condition at Kennestone Regional Medical Center in Marietta.
