🌱 Police Chief Recommendation + Interim High School Principal

Here are the top three stories today in Marietta:

1. Marietta's City Manager has recommended that current interim Chief Mary Ferrell be appointed as the city's new Police Chief. The Marietta City Council will now vote on the recommendation. The vote is scheduled for Wednesday, Sep. 14. (Cobb County Courier)
2. The Marietta school board has voted to appoint DeMarcos "Marco" Holland as Marietta High School's interim principal. The appointment was necessary due to Eric Holland accepting the Rome City Schools superintendent position. DeMarcos Holland will serve in the interim position for the remainder of the school year. (MDJOnline.com)
3. Cobb County commissioners reassured county residents on Wednesday that their concerns about the county's proposed trash services changes will be heard. The county has not made a final decision regarding the proposal. Some residents agree that changes need to be made - but they aren't quite sure the proposed changes are the right ones. County residents will be able to give input at the next public hearing scheduled for Sep. 13. (CBS46)
