Spring (Semester) is in the Air at Chattahoochee Tech

Marietta campus ushers in classes with about 10,000 students enrolled, breaking last year's mark.

MARIETTA, GA -- If you're attending Chattahoochee Technical College, it's time to roll up your sleeves and hit the books. The new spring semester commenced this week with more than 2,000 new students, the school said Thursday.

That brings the total student enrollment to about 10,000, the school announced.

“The start of the spring semester is an exciting time of year as we welcome back students who are finishing their degrees, diplomas and certificates. Students joining us for the first time will also receive the essential tools to be successful in today’s job market,” CTC President Ron Newcomb said in a news release.

Classes began Tuesday officially with 9,977 students, an increase over last spring's total of 9,400.

“Chattahoochee Tech’s enrollment figures are a direct reflection of the dedication our faculty, staff and students have put forth to make this college a success,” he said.

The school's Marietta location is its flagship campus, with enrollment on the first day of spring semester of more than 4,100 students, the school said. Its North Metro Campus in Bartow County tallied 2,703 students. Other satellite campuses in Canton, Appalachian, Mountain View, Paulding and Woodstock enrolled hundreds of students, the school said.

Chattahoochee Tech is the state's largest technical college, serving more than 14,000 students in eight locations.
