New Road Closure, Emergency Alert System in Cobb
SwiftReach Emergency System provides nearly real-time info on major accidents, missing persons and severe weather.

MARIETTA, GA -- Cobb County officials have implemented a nearly real-time apparatus to reach residents with timely information, public safety officials announced Wednesday.
Alerts from the SwiftReach Swift911 notification system will be used to update Cobb residents on things that affect their safety or welfare.
Situations that may call for the SwiftReach notification would include road closures, fatal accidents, missing persons and severe weather, the county said.

The alerts can be sent via pre-recorded messages, cell phone, land-line telephone, email and text messaging.
Residents can opt in or out by accessing a portal on all public safety pages on the Cobb County website.
