100 New Jobs Coming To Norcross When Food Plant Opens
Birchwood Foods is hiring workers for its new Norcross processing plant, set to open in January, says city's economic development office.
NORCROSS, GA — A food processing company with operations in Norcross plans to hire up to 100 new employees before it opens a new plant in January, according to the city's economic development office.
Birchwood Foods has invested $33 million in an 80,000-square-foot facility on Goshen Springs Road in Norcross, and is looking to hire workers for a range of positions, from production worker to supervisor, the office said in a recent statement.
The company, based in Kenosha, Wisconsin, is a major supplier of fresh and frozen ground beef patties for national fast-food chains, including Wendy's and Burger King.

Recently, Birchwood won a contract with another major restaurant chain and is expected to produce 60 million pounds of meat per year, or 2.5 million pounds per week, the office said.
