Two Month Anniversary of Sandy Hook Mass Shooting Rally in Gwinnett County Urges U.S. Rep. Rob Woodall to Stand Up for Gun Safety

Lawrenceville, GA – On Thursday, February 21 from 12 Noon to 1:00 p.m., local parents, gun owners, community activists and advocates for common sense laws to reduce gun violence will gather at the Gwinnett Justice & Administrative Center in Lawrenceville, GA urging U.S. Representative Rob Woodall to support reasonable gun safety laws.  Protestors will carry handmade signs and banners and sing chants.

At the rally, 50 or more concerned citizens and MoveOn.org members will urge Representative Woodall to take action.

We ask Representative Woodall to listen to his constituents and stand up for common sense reforms that will reduce gun violence,” said Kathleen Allen, a local mother, gun owner and MoveOn.org member.  “Congress must not wait for the next Sandy Hook, Virginia Tech, Tucson or Columbine before taking action.  Representative Woodall needs to return to Washington next week and vote to protect our children and our community.  We urge Representative Woodall to stand up against gun violence and know that the extreme NRA doesn't speak for many gun owners.”

WHAT:  Demonstration for Gun Safety.  Local citizens and MoveOn members to urge Congressman Woodall to pass sensible laws to reduce gun violence, including expanded background checks.
