Fire Guts Trailer Home In Norcross; No Injuries Reported
A blaze in a storage shed spread to a trailer early Monday at the Norcross Mobile Home Village, says Gwinnett fire department.

NORCROSS, GA — An early morning fire Monday gutted a trailer at the Norcross Mobile Home Village, but all of the occupants escaped without injury, according to Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services. Firefighters responded at 3:22 a.m. Monday to the report of a fire at the trailer park, at 4498 Buford Highway NW.
They found a storage shed on fire with flames extending to the trailer, the fire department said. They quickly put out the blaze, and the trailer's occupants told the firefighters that everyone had safely exited the home.
A woman living in the trailer said "she was awakened by a popping and crackling noise" and saw the fire in the shed, a fire department report stated. She alerted the other occupants, a child and two other adults, and they fled the trailer.

The occupants are being treated by the American Red Cross. A dog escaped during the fire and was found several hours later, the fire department said.
In the report, the department said the trailer home "is considered a total loss due to significant fire, smoke and water damage throughout the entire structure." The trailer did not have smoke alarms, the report added.

Two other trailers sustained moderate damage to their vinyl siding caused by the fire's intense heat. The fire department said the cause of the blaze is under investigation, but it "does not appear suspicious in nature."
