Man Tries To Pass Fake $20 At Subway, Robs At Gunpoint: Police

Police need help identifying a man who robbed a Subway at gunpoint after being questioned about a fake $20 bill.

NORCROSS, GA — The Gwinnett County Police Department needs help identifying a man who robbed a Subway at gunpoint after being questioned about a fake $20 bill.

The armed robbery happened Friday at the Subway restaurant at 4181 Steve Reynolds Boulevard in unincorporated Norcross. A man walked in, used the restroom, and then came out and ordered food. He then handed over a fake $20 bill. When the cashier questioned him about the bill, he climbed over the counter, pulled out a handgun and put it against her side. She opened the cash register and he took out a couple hundred dollars, police said.

He then climbed back over the counter and fled the restaurant. He later came back inside and took the fake $20 bill.

Photos are being shared with the public in hopes of identifying who the man is. Though he is wearing all black, his shoes and backpack are very distinctive, police point out.
