Senior Connections Needs Volunteers

Senior Connections produces and delivers more than 3,000 meals daily to area seniors at senior centers and private residences. Volunteers are needed to drive Meals On Wheels routes (about a two-hour commitment per route, per month), assist with special events, help with administrative duties or work in the central Senior Connections kitchen and help package the meals.

For every hour you can “Be Our Volunteer” this year between Valentine’s Day 2011 and January 31, 2012, you’ll earn points toward a lovely romantic dinner for two prepared in your home by our head chef, Tara Bauer. We "heart" our volunteers – and this year, we want to show our appreciation in a tangible way.

The dinner will include wine pairings to match a four-course gourmet Italian meal prepared in the winner’s home on a date of his or her choosing. Additional prizes, donated by local merchants and stores will be awarded as well. Notes Furtado: “We are so thankful for the support of our neighborhood restaurants and stores of our ongoing volunteer program.”
