Lakeside High Principal to Deliver State of School Address

Principal Joe Reed will give a state of the school address next week before the school's PTSA, according to a Thursday statement from the group.

Reed will speak to the PTSA on Tuesday at 7pm, and a small PTSA meeting will follow the address.

Many Lakeside High parents and students are concerned about the DeKalb County School System's recent efforts to redraw some schools' attendance zones in the area, including Lakeside's. Interim Superintendent Ramona Tyson is scheduled to give her recommendation to the school board Monday. The school board will vote on the issue March 7. 

The school is also in the middle of a that includes the construction of 25 new classrooms, a fine arts center, technology upgrades and other space expansions.

The PTSA will also discuss new information regarding the proposed redistricting after the meeting.
