More than $2K worth of items stolen from Decatur home
A Decatur man told DeKalb County police last week that more than $2,000 worth of property was taken from his home.

The man said the following items were stolen from his home at the 200 block of Carlyle Lake between 12:15pm and 7pm Wednesday, according to the police report: a flat-screen, LED TV valued at $1,000; an Xbox gaming console valued at $400; a Bose speaker valued at $400; DVDs worth $80; and video games worth $240.

Atlanta man charged with strongarm robbery, assault and battery
An Atlanta man was charged with robbing and assaulting a woman in her Buford Highway apartment Thursday afternoon, DeKalb County police said.

The victim told police Wesley Cannon, also a Buford Highway resident, was visiting her roommate in her apartment at the 3500 block of Buford Highway at about 2:30pm, according to the police report.

The victim asked Cannon if he had money he owed her. Cannon, she told police, swore at her, dragged her out of her room, slapped her repeatedly and stole $56 from her pants pocket.

The woman was taken to Grady Hospital, and the man was taken to jail.
