Here are the top stories in Sandy Springs today:

  1. Sandy Springs approved its 2023 fiscal year budget in a June 21 meeting at City Hall. The approved budget projects that the city will receive a $136 million General Fund. The city is not projected to receive any federal grant funds. (Reporter Newspapers)
  2. Hours after the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis announced that she would not be prosecuting abortion cases while in office. Willis stated, "I will not be using precious tax dollars allocated to this office to pursue prosecutions based on women's personal health care choices." (Paywall: The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  3. The Sandy Springs Police Department asked residents to avoid the Morgan Falls Road and Overlook Park area on Wednesday night as they were conducting an "active investigation." No additional details were given as to the nature of the investigation. (11 Alive)
