  1. The Next Step to Success scholarship program, run by the Couchman Noble Foundation, will award up to $40,000 to students from Sandy Springs for their post-secondary academic or vocational training. Eligible students must submit an online application by Feb. 14. The scholarship helps students who are already enrolled in either a part-time or full-time post-high school academic or vocational curriculum and need additional financial assistance in earning a post-secondary education.   2. The Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce, a nonprofit serving local communities including Sandy Springs, has been named a Georgia Certified Chamber by the Georgia Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives. The certification is awarded through a peer review process of generally accepted standards for chambers of commerce in the state. The chamber, which includes over 1,300 businesses, individuals, organizations and educational institutions, focuses on economic development, business growth, and "regional prosperity." It has also received the highest honor from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, a five-star accreditation. (Alpharetta-Roswell Herald)
  3. Elite Integrated Medical LLC, which formerly did business under the name of Superior Healthcare Sandy Springs, has been ordered to pay $287,631 in restitution as required by a consent judgment obtained by the office’s Consumer Protection Division. The owner, Justin Paulk, has also been ordered to pay that amount. The judgment is the outcome of a lawsuit filed in September 2020 that permanently prohibits the company from selling or advertising stem cell therapy products or services. (Albany Herald)
