  1. The Sandy Springs City Council recently received complaints from residents of trespassing by bow hunters. Residents complained that hunters are reportedly killing dear and leaving the carcasses. The city may require bow hunters to get a hunting license. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  2. A commercial real estate firm is planning its first community meeting to discuss plans to redevelop the North River Shopping Center. The meeting will be held across from the shopping center at the River Ridge office building, 9040 Roswell Road, at 6:00 p.m. on Jan. 9, 2023. Sandy Springs officials have been working toward attracting development at the center and other nearby properties. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  3. Governor Brian Kemp declared a state of emergency for all 159 counties in Georgia in response to the upcoming winter storm. The state is expected to experience the coldest temperatures in five years this week, with strong winds expected to bring the wind chill to 10 degrees below or more on Friday morning. People traveling away from home for the holidays are asked to make sure neighbors can access their homes in the event of bursting pipes. (WSB Atlanta)
