- The Sandy Springs Mayor and City Council have called a special meeting for today at 2:00 p.m. The meeting will take place at City Hall and will also be streamed live on the Sandy Springs Public Meeting Website. - The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office will receive an $11 million budget increase, leading to a 20% pay raise for deputies and detention officers. The decision was confirmed with a 4-3 vote by the Fulton County Board of Commissioners. The department says the extra funds will go towards overtime pay for staff working in the Fulton County Jail, overtime paid as earned in lieu of comp time, and salary increases for sworn and civilian staff. - Based on Zillow data, Sandy Springs was named No. 7 on Stacker's list of cities with the fastest-growing home prices in the Atlanta metro area. The typical home value in the area is $670,373, which makes it the seventh most expensive city in the metro area.
