Here are the top three stories in Sandy Springs today:
- Fulton County has finally reached an agreement with its 15 municipalities regarding the distribution of Local Option Sales Tax revenues. The parties have been negotiating the distribution agreement for four months. The agreement was approved by the county's Board of Commissioners during its most recent meeting. Click for agreement details. (Reporter Newspapers + Atlanta Intown)
- Sandy Springs Mayor Rusty Paul has voiced concerns about driver safety along I-285 to a Georgia Department of Transportation representative. There have been a number of accidents that have shut down the highway in both directions during the ongoing reconstruction project of two highway bridges. It would take the state legislature to divert traffic off I-285. The department's representative will be taking the mayor's diversion request to their superiors. - A Sandy Springs Montessori school will be repairing and stabilizing an eroding streambank. The project will be at 5750 Long Island Drive. Residents with concerns about the project will be allowed to submit comments to the Environmental Protection Division Watershed Protection Branch until Nov. 18. Click the link for project details.
