Here are the top three stories today in Sandy Springs:
- The Georgia Department of Transportation is conducting an investigation into a fatal crash which occurred on I-285 eastbound in Sandy Springs. The crash happened on Sunday afternoon and involved a tractor-trailer and another vehicle. The department has not released information on what led to the crash. (CBS 46)
- A recent report by 24/7 Wall St. – using 2021 U.S. Census Bureau Community Survey data – listed Sandy Springs as one of the most educated big cities in the country. The report has the Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Alpharetta area in the 41st spot. According to the data, 42.2 percent of the area's adults have a bachelor's degree or higher. (247WallStreet)
- Georgia's Secretary of State announced a plan to replace election equipment after "unauthorized access" occurred following the 2020 election. Fulton County has also issued a statement regarding information being shared by one of its workers with an outside individual. According to the county, the individual has been fired and the affected individuals are being notified. The county will also be providing credit monitoring services to the individuals.
