Footprints For The Future, Children's Book Festival On Oct. 13

The fifth annual event hosted by Sandy Springs Education Force will be held at City Springs.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — The Sandy Springs Education Force will host its fifth annual Footprints for the Future race next month at City Springs. The Oct. 13 family-friendly event begins at 7:45 a.m. with the Peachtree qualifier Footprints for the Future 10K/5K.

Runners and walkers will enjoy a pre-race packet pick-up option and chip timing. Race registration includes a long-sleeved dri-balance shirt, vendor booths, snacks and a SWAG bag. Team pricing is available. Proceeds from the race support SSEF literacy programming, including its Reading Buddies and Mini Libraries initiatives.

This year's event will also include the inaugural Children's Book Festival, which is free and runs from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The event kicks off with a book character dress-up parade led by professional storybook characters. Attendees will enjoy multiple award-winning book author and illustrator presentations, question-and-answer sessions, book signings, storytelling, arts and crafts and more.

Free parking is available at City Springs until 12:30 p.m. You can register for the 10K and 5K by visiting the Active.com site for the race.
