  1. The planting season is ending soon, and it's the last chance for Sandy Springs residents to receive free front yard trees! For several years, the City of Sandy Springs and Trees Atlanta have partnered together to offer residents up to three free front yard trees. Trees are only planted from October through March. Sandy Springs residents can choose white oak, willow oak, overcup oak, tulip poplar, river birch, or sycamore trees. Residents can apply online here. (Subscription: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
  2. The inaugural Northside St. Patrick’s Parade & Festival in Sandy Springs will take place on Mar. 18. The parade route will end at the City Green, where the festival will take place. The family-friendly festival includes vendors, Irish sports demonstrations, music, Irish dancing, and more. The festivities will conclude with a concert by Kate Curran at nearby Thos.
