  1. A Fulton County jury has ordered the nearby city of Milton to pay over $30 million to the family of a college student who died in a car crash seven years ago. The student, Josh Chang, collided with a stone planter on the city's property, and the jury found the city to be 93 percent at fault for the accident. The city may appeal the decision, which could prolong the legal process and potentially impact taxpayers in the long run. (95.5 WSB)
  2. Fulton County Commissioner Khadijah Abdur-Rahman, along with District Attorney Fani Willis and Chief Judge of Probate Court Kenya Johnson, is organizing a Lunch-and-Learn Seminar on Jun. 23 to raise awareness and keep seniors safe on World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. The event will provide seniors with important information on identifying signs of elder abuse, preventing abuse, and seeking help. The collaboration between the county leadership and legal authorities aims to protect seniors from physical and financial harm and empower them to take action against perpetrators of abuse. 3. In case you missed it - The City of Sandy Springs is hosting its annual Stars & Stripes Fireworks Celebration on Jul. 4 at City Springs. Attendees can expect live music by the Platinum Band Atlanta, food trucks, and a fireworks display starting at 9:30 p.m. Mayor Rusty Paul expressed excitement for the event and welcomed the crowd to celebrate Independence Day under the stars.
