1. A dispute between a local man's daughter and the daughter of a Fulton County sheriff's deputy has led to an internal affairs investigation. Damien Smith was outraged after his daughter was allegedly assaulted by two women, one of whom was revealed to be an off-duty sheriff's deputy. Later that same evening, after Smith's daughter had been to the hospital with a sprained wrist, Smith was arrested in his own home with the same sheriff's deputy present. (WSB Atlanta)
2. Atlanta police are conducting investigations after a body was found in Peachtree Creek, in Buckhead. Police units responded to the Brookdale Drive NW location after being alerted to the body. Additional information was not immediately available. (11Alive.com WXIA)
3. Public health officials from Georgia reported seven confirmed cases of monkeypox in the state. Thus far, seven men have contracted the rare disease which was first reported in Massachusetts in May. Symptoms typically last about two to four weeks, with severe cases happening most often in children. (11Alive.com WXIA)
