Going Green: Electric Car Charging Stations in Sandy Springs

Walgreen's on Roswell Road is on a growing list of places in the metro area that are installing charging stations.

 

Walgreen's at 7530 Roswell Road is the latest place to offer a cutting-edge amenity - car charging stations. Other nearby locations include two at Seven Oaks in Perimeter Summit, in Dunwoody.

The special parking spaces equipped with electrical outlets are popping up all over metro Atlanta. Lenox Square Mall and Atlantic Station have installed charging stations.

Some current models of electric cars, such as the Nissan Leaf, can travel about 70 miles before they need to be recharged, according to the website Green Car Reports. Chevrolet says its Volt gas-electric hybrid averages 900 miles between fill-ups when it is charged regularly.
