"The Big Imagine," a 65-foot long, 17-foot high swing set, is one of six selected playable art attractions planned for Abernathy Greenway Linear Park in Sandy Springs.

Artist Jeff Hackney delivered parts for his iconic swing set, “The Big Imagine,” to Sandy Springs, last week. The swings will be installed later this year as playable art for Abernathy Greenway Linear Park.

“The Big Imagine” will be a 65-foot long, 17-foot high swing set with 14 structural steel arches.

It’s one of six selected playable art attractions coming to Abernathy Greenway. The entire project is a joint venture of Art Sandy Springs and Sandy Springs Conservancy. More than 120 entries were submitted by international artists before six winners were named.

“Dragonfly,” which features a dragon face and porthole eyes, climbing rope wings and slide is already at the park.
