  1. The City of Sandy Springs reports that the Georgia Department of Transportation will be closing lanes on Pitts Road and Colquitt Road through Dec. 19. The contractors and crews will be alternating the lane closures during that time. The lanes will be closed from 9:00 a.m. through 3:00 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays. Please plan travel accordingly.   2. A Fulton County Superior Court judge has dismissed a grand jury indictment regarding a Fulton County jail death. The indictment was against six detention officers. They were charged with murder in connection to the death of Antonio May, 32 years old. (Subscription: AJC.com)
  3. The Sandy Springs Recreation and Parks 13th Annual Daddy Daughter Dance will be on Saturday, Feb. 4 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The event is meant for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. The event is also open to father figures. There will be snacks, refreshments, musical games, and dance contests. (City of Sandy Springs)
