- Unionized employees of the Sandy Springs-based UPS voted Friday to authorize a strike in the event that an agreement is not reached on their contract before it expires next month. A total of 97 percent of unionized workers voted for the authorization, but the vote does not guarantee a strike will take place. Unionized employees are reportedly asking for improvements to driver safety, such as equipping more delivery trucks with air conditioning equipment. (WSB Atlanta)
- One person is dead after a single-vehicle crash on Langford Parkway Westbound in Fulton County. The incident occurred around 4:40 a.m. on Friday when the driver of a 2003 Monte Carlo hit a curb and struck a utility light pole. The driver's identity has not been released, and Georgia State Patrol officials are investigating the crash. (WSB Atlanta)
- A local performing arts theatre has announced the lineup for its 2023-2024 season. Act3 Productions in Sandy Springs will open the season with the musical comedy Xanadu on Sep. 8. Other shows in the lineup include Perfect Arrangement and Lend Me a Tenor. (MDJ Online)
