Here are the top three stories today in Sandy Springs:

  1. During a Wednesday town hall, city officials warned that emergency services could take a significant hit if Fulton County reduces the municipalities' cut of local option sales tax revenue. College Park's mayor Bianca Motley Broom reported that the negotiations are not going well. The town hall included city officials from north and south Fulton County cities at the Georgia International Convention Center. The hit could include layoffs. (Subscription: AJC.com)
  2. A Fulton County woman is currently facing charges of insurance fraud and forgery. According to officials, Maisha Harris, 45, used photos she found online to submit two repair claims on her vehicle. Mercury Insurance Company was able to detect the fraud and Harris admitted her deception through an email to the company on Sep. 20, 2021. Investigators have issued warrants against Harris. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
  3. Bruce Miller, 82, was arrested on Wednesday after the Fulton County medical examiner ruled his wife's death a homicide. On Sep. 15, Miller claimed that his wife Judith stabbed herself. The medical examiner determined that Miller's claims did not match the investigative results. He has been charged with murder, felony murder, and the possession of a knife during the commission of a crime. (Subscription: AJC.com)
