Here are the top three stories in Sandy Springs today:
- The Sandy Springs Veterans Day Celebration is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 11 at 11:30 a.m. The celebration will be held on the City Green, but will be moved to the Byers Theatre if inclement weather occurs. Retired WSB-TV Anchor John Pruitt will be emceeing the event. The community is encouraged to attend. (City of Sandy Springs)
- Fulton County reports municipalities have not responded to the county's request to continue mediation about the Local Options Sales Tax. The county claims it is negotiating in good faith. The county is calling on the mayors to continue the negotiations while demonstrating "true leadership." The negotiations will decide how the Local Options Sales Tax is distributed. (Fulton County)
- Fulton County is offering free breast cancer screenings today. The screenings will be offered at the North Fulton Regional Health Center in Alpharetta between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The screenings are meant to honor National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. (Street94.5)
