NARI Atlanta Presents its Seventh Annual Tour of Remodeled Homes Oct. 22, 2016
The self-guided Tour includes remodeled homes in Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Vinings, and Marietta/East Cobb.

NARI Atlanta (www.nariatlanta.org), the local chapter of the National Association for the Remodeling Industry, will present its Seventh Annual Tour of Remodeled Homes Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Five private homes transformed by NARI Atlanta members throughout Atlanta’s northern suburbs will be open to the public, with the remodeling teams on hand to discuss each project and answer questions. The tour is self-guided and will be held rain or shine. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 the day of the tour, and are available at www.atlantaremodelingtour.com. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to CURE Childhood Cancer.
Homes placed on the Tour to date have been remodeled by the following NARI members:
- Glazer Construction (home in Sandy Springs) – This beautiful Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired home blends the best of comfortable living with high-functioning office space. The office areas include clean, well-lit space with maximum storage, modern industrial touches, hardwood floors, barn doors and designer bathrooms.
- Harbour Towne Construction (home in Dunwoody) – A split-level home was transformed with a kitchen remodel and a multi-purpose room addition that included a new deck. Because the homeowner wanted to open the kitchen and main living area to the lower-level den, the kitchen was relocated and nearly all of the interior walls were removed. The landing rail between the floors was replaced with a cable railing to further open the space. The old kitchen became the eating area with French doors opening to a new deck. The new kitchen has large counter peninsula with bar stools and an adjacent keeping room. Tile flooring was used throughout the kitchen for function and beauty.
- Master Home Remodelers (home in Marietta/East Cobb) – This family home suffered from narrow hallways and kitchen, blocked views and relatively unused space that was difficult to get to. Master Home Remodelers transformed the cramped kitchen into 200 square feet of workable space, expanded the family room and framed the views of the golf course and creek and organized the basement and lower yard for easy entertaining. The project also included upgrading the old windows and HVAC and widening hallways throughout the home.
- John Rogers Renovations (home in East Cobb) – a traditional hilltop home has been made over to reflect subtle modern refinement. The home now features an open girder staircase and iron and glass doors overlooking a spectacular view of the Chattahoochee River. The first room to be remodeled was the kitchen, which now blends visual texture with clean, modern simplicity. The interior was opened up, and the laundry room, bath and power room were redesigned to increase beauty and function. The end result is a family-friendly, modern/industrial-style home that offers the very best in suburban living.
- Modify Atlanta (home in Vinings) – The home’s kitchen received a complete redesign and renovation in order to maximize use of space and allow more light into the room. The transformation included new flooring and countertops, white cabinetry and stainless steel appliances.

About CURE Childhood Cancer
CURE Childhood Cancer was founded in Atlanta in 1975 by Emory University’s first pediatric oncologist, Dr. Abdel Ragab. He saw the need for a pediatric oncology research program as well as support programs for families facing childhood cancer. He organized a group of parents to form a grassroots, non-profit organization and begin raising money. Today, CURE Childhood Cancer’s mission is to conquer childhood cancer through funding targeted research and through support of patients and their families. The non-profit also funds basic and clinical cancer research, training of future pediatric oncologists and researchers through a fellowship program at Emory University School of Medicine, emergency financial assistance for families stricken by childhood cancer and innovative programs that address the critical and urgent needs of patients and their families. www.curechildhoodcancer.org
