Here are the top three stories in Sandy Springs today:

1. The Sandy Springs Perimeter Chamber has selected a new president. Adam Forrand will be leading the group as its new president and CEO, according to the organization's Wednesday announcement. He is currently serving as a vice president of the Gwinnett Chamber and Partnership Gwinnett. He will begin his new role on Tuesday, Nov. 1. (Appen Media)
2. The Sandy Springs City Council has approved a new contract for a trail segment project. JHC Corporation will be constructing the new segment for $7,803,554. The 1.88-mile segment will provide access to the Chattahoochee River. (Subscription: AJC.com)
3. According to a new report published by Stacker, the most common language spoken at home other than English in the Sandy Springs area is Spanish. The report was compiled using data provided by the U.S. Census Bureau. The second-most common non-English language spoken at home in the Sandy Springs area is Vietnamese. Click for the full report.
