New Update: SSPD Identify Shooting Suspect at Large
A Sandy Springs mother was in serious condition Sunday after being shot at Chastain Apartments. Police have issued warrants for her son's father, Matthew Terry.

Sandy Springs Police issued warrants for Matthew Terry, 42, in the Sunday shooting of Shawn Crews at Chastain Apartments on Roswell Road.
Terry's whereabouts were unknown Sunday night. He is considered armed and dangerous.

Terry is described a black male 5-foot-9 and 227 pounds. According to Sandy Springs Police he was last seen in Crews' Mercedes C-280 with New York license plate no. FLX-3586. Terry could also be in a black Cadillac Escalade with New York license plate no. ETJ-6098. Terry is from New York with possible ties in North Carolina.
Shawn Crews, 38, was in serious condition late Sunday night at Grady Hospital. The mother of a four-year-old son was shot four times, once in the face, just after 5 p.m. at Chastain Apartments.

Sandy Springs Police Capt. Steve Rose said the suspect is the child’s father and not considered a current boyfriend. Police believe Crews came home to find Terry in her apartment. The two argued, Crews ran out of the apartment and was shot in the breezeway or stairway, Rose said.
The victim's son was at the location when the shooting occurred but was not injured. He is being cared for by the victim's family.
Warrants were issued for Terry for Aggravated Assault, Burglary, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony.
