Northside Hospital Ranked 'High Performing' In 6 Conditions

The Sandy Springs facility was recognized in U.S. News & World Report's 2018-19 Best Hospital rankings.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — U.S. News & World Report recently released its 2018-19 Best Hospital rankings, which show Northside Hospital in Sandy Springs and Northside Hospital Forsyth are among 1,100 facilities that received a high performing rating in at least one common procedure or condition.

The 29th annual rankings are designed to assist patients and their doctors in making informed decisions about where to receive care. Northside Hospital ranked high performing in four conditions: lung cancer surgery, heart failure, colon cancer surgery and abdominal aortic aneurysm repair.

Northside Hospital Forsyth, located in Cumming, also ranked high performing for heart failure and abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, as well as for COPD, hip replacement and knee replacement.

More than 4,500 medical centers nationwide across 25 specialties, procedures and conditions were compared. Scores are based on several factors, including survival, patient safety, nurse staffing and more. Hospitals that are not nationally ranked but scored high enough in a specialty to put them in the top 10 percent of the analyzed centers are recognized as "high performing."
