• DFACS Faces $85 Million Shortfall, Forcing Foster Care Cuts Amid Georgia Budget Surplus (discoverdade.com) — Georgia’s child welfare agency is facing an $85 million budget shortfall that’s already slowing new foster care placements, even as the state reports a massive surplus. State Rep. Esther Panitch of Sandy Springs is pressing DFACS leadership over how the crisis developed, while providers warn children with complex needs could be hardest hit by contract cuts and reduced support.

What your neighbors are talking about on social media

  • There is a gorgeous dog that looks like a Border Collie/Shepard mix that has been running around my subdivision since early this am.
    I tried take a photo but I was too far away. On the corner of Treadwick and Canaday act. I am afraid it is going to get hit by a car . (Nextdoor Deerfield)
  • A vehicle fire on the I-285 South exit to I-85 South blocked the right lane, causing delays, but all lanes are now clear.
