Here are the top three stories in Sandy Springs today:
- The three center lanes of Roswell Road will be closed through the end of the month. Construction crews are creating a raised median north of Morgan Falls Road. Traffic will be shifted to the two outermost lanes during the project. There will also be 32 pedestrian lights installed in the $3.7 million project. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
- Persian cuisine is coming to Sandy Springs. Yalda, a Persian restaurant co-owned by Executive chef Ashkan Famili, will be opening at 6500 Aria Boulevard, Suite 500. Guests will enjoy pomegranate-inspired dishes in a Lavasan villa setting. The restaurant's name is a homage to the longest night of the year celebrated by Persians — Yalda. (Reporter Newspapers)
- The Fulton County Justice System is actively working to clear its backlog of court cases. The system is spending $75 million to clear the backlog. The issue was created by the COVID-19 pandemic. Both criminal and civil cases are backed up. There are still 73,000 cases pending. (CBS46)
