Police Make Arrest in Sandy Springs Murder

Sandy Springs Police detectives and crime suppression detectives have arrested a Sandy Springs man who is charged with the shooting and murder of 36-year old Ellis Alfoncoe Blue. 

Blue was shot several times just after 2 am on Sept. 15 outside of the Morgan Falls Billiards Bar at 7875 Roswell Road. 

Several witnesses came forward and identified 31-year old Andrae Dinkens, of Fenwick Place in Sandy Springs as the man they witnessed shooting Blue as he and his wife were leaving the bar in their car. According to witnesses, Blue and Dinkens had an altercation inside the bar about fifteen minutes prior to the shooting. As Blue and his wife were seated in the car as it backed out of a parking space, Dinkens approached from the driver’s side of the car and fired several shots into the car, striking Blue. Dinkens tl shoted on foot. 

Andrae Dinkens is charged with Felony Murder, Malice Murder, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. 

Dinkens was arrested Friday afternoon as he exited his car at his workplace on Piedmont Road. He was taken into custody without incident. A hearing date has not yet been set.
