“We have some incredible antiques this year,” said Joan Plunkett, event chairwoman.
Tossed out Treasures is a major fundraiser for the charitable organization. Sandy Springs Society reports they donated $145,192 to non-profits in 2012. Since the group was founded in 1989, they have donated nearly $2.4 Million in total to charities.

Thursday night’s preview party was expected to welcome 300 people who wanted first dibs on items. Admission to the catered event was $30.
Items are marked at various prices. Plunkett emphasized that everything is a great value, be it a $30 chair, or a $700 sofa originally purchased for $2,500.
Tossed Out Treasures has expanded over the years.“It was really small when we did the first one,“ Plunkett recalled. “We had a lot of designer clothes. A lot of us would buy each other’s things.”
This year the popular 'Man Cave' has returned. Everything nearly sold out in the dedicated space, last year, Plunkett said. Cave items range from mugs and hunting boots to a brass chest.
Unsold items at Tossed Out Treasure are given to local non-profit organizations, on Sunday.
Frank Jackson with Sandy Springs Toyota owns the usually vacant space and has donated it for free for the second consecutive year, Plunkett said. Sandy Springs Society has had the space for three weeks.
