Armed robbery attempt. Last Thursday, Domino’s Pizza employees reported that just after 10 p.m., a man came into the location at 6130 Roswell Road and robbed them. The man came in wearing a black ski mask and large black backpack. He held a black semi-auto pistol in his hand.

He demanded the money. He was told that they do most of their business by credit card and showed him that they had no money in the register. He left.

The suspect is reported to be about six-feet tall, about 165-175 lbs in his early to mid-20s. He wore a gray hooded sweatshirt and black jacket with dirty light jeans.

Home theft. Last Wednesday, a Quarry Lake Court resident reported that around 3:30 pm a Hispanic man came to the door and told the resident that he was cutting trees next door and he would clean up any mess he made. The victim resident asked the man to show him the trees he was going to cut. As they walked along the yard, the man spoke to someone in Spanish on a cell phone. They were outside for 20 minutes.

Later that evening, he spoke to his wife, who recognized the scenario as something she had learned was a setup technique for a burglary. She then went upstairs and found that some of her jewelry had been stolen.

The suspect is describes as a light-skinned Hispanic male, 20-30 years old, 5-feet-8 to 5-feet-10. He wore a dark sleeve fleece jacket, dark pants and solid white tennis shoes. The victim said he spoke good English. The victim said a gray pickup truck was parked on the curb. The truck was described as small in size.

Store theft. Last Wednesday, a woman entered the Target Store at the Prado and presented a $100 Traveler’s Check to pay for her purchases. Per policy, the clerk contacted a loss-prevention staff member who examined the check and found it to be fraudulent.

The woman who presented the check became suspicious and left in a Red Mazda that was in the parking lot. A male driver was in the car waiting on her.

After a lookout was posted, a road officer located the car and pulled it over at Citgo parking lot. The woman exited the car and ran from the police on Lake Placid Drive. She was quickly rounded up and after being identified, was charged with Forgery and Obstruction and then taken to jail. (The report did not say what happened to the male driver.)

Store theft. On March 20, an employee at the REI Store, in the Perimeter area, reported that he saw a male walking around the store looking at him so the employee thought the man wanted to ask him a question. The man walked past him and then out an emergency exit, which activated an alarm. The man got into a car and fled. Turns out he stole about three climbing ropes valued at $200 each. The suspect is a white male, 5-foot-11, blondish hair, with an unshaven face.
