Recent Crimes: Two Hoodwinked, Two Held at Gunpoint
Last Thursday night, a man and woman reported they were approached on Colquitt Road in Sandy Springs by three males, who pulled a gun and demanded money.

An 84-year-old woman on High Point Road reported that a man asked if she needed her driveway resurfaced. They agreed that she would pay $39 per gallon of paint. Once he finished, he came inside and said she owed him $4,000. She didn’t have that amount and said the man who identified himself as Marty intimidated her with a firm voice and told her to call the bank and see what she could pay. She later agreed to pay him $,2000. When he left, she stopped payment on the check. She described him as a white male, six-feet-tall and 230 pounds.

A man reported that he met another man at a Roswell Road barbershop who offered to sell him a Chevrolet Tahoe for $4,800. The man said the car would be purchased at an auction in February of this year. An agreement was made that the complainant would give the man two payments of $1,000 each and the balance would be made at the time he took possession of the Tahoe.
In early February, the complainant gave the man his 1999 Nissan Altima to count for $800 of the money that he owed towards the Tahoe. The complainant had given he man $1,000 in January, the car in February and by March, the Tahoe had still not been delivered. The man said the car needed repairs and he didn’t want to sell the car if it needed repair. The complainant now gave the man another $1,000 for the car that he had never seen other than a photo.

By the end of March, the complainant now figured out that he was being taken and demanded the Nissan Altima back. The man said the Altima had been sold. The complainant—now victim, said the Altima was his but the tag registration showed it being owned by a woman. The title of the Altima was also gone in that it was in the glove box of the Altima.

About 11:30 p.m. a man and woman reported they were approached on Colquitt Road by three males, who pulled a gun and demanded money. They had none so a cell phone was taken from the woman. The three suspects were described as black males, short, about 5-foot-6 and 120-135 pounds. One wore a black hooded sweatshirt and one a red hooded sweatshirt.
