Here are the top stories in Sandy Springs today:

  1. Democratic State Rep. Shea Roberts of Sandy Springs published a highly personal story about abortion on the Fox News website in an attempt to reach people who likely would not agree with her political views. "My story is not easy to tell," began Roberts, in a piece which ultimately received highly negative backlash. Despite a few supportive responses, many comments included vile language and violent imagery. (11 Alive)
  2. City Springs Theatre's production of "West Side Story" debuted to some mixed reviews. The production featured notable set designs and a handful of convincing performances. The theater company performed the nearly 65-year-old play which was recently remade into a film directed by Steven Spielberg. (Subscription/The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  3. Miami Circle in Buckhead has become one the metro Atlanta area's largest hubs for local artists. The area is home to a dozen galleries, and handful of design companies specializing in various mediums. Many of the businesses were converted from old warehouses with industrial elements.
