Riverwood Students Win National Scholastic Art Awards
Nine students from Riverwood have earned awards and honorable mentions at the national Scholastic Art & Writing competition.
From Riverwood International Charter School: Riverwood International Charter School is proud to announce nine winning entries in the 2016-17 national Scholastic Art and Writing Awards competition. Lilly Blumenthal won a Gold Key award for her photograph “Natural Beauties“ and an Honorable Mention for her photograph “Yearning for Youth.” Emma Horwitz won a Silver Key for her painting “A Little Piece of Heaven.” Honorable Mentions went to Ellie Addington (Sculpture), Nicholas Boatwright (Painting), Kelsie Constable (Painting), Emma Horwitz (Painting), Angie Jaimes (Photography), Natalie Neal (Painting), and Kangdi Yu (Printmaking)
The Scholastic Awards program invites teens to apply in various categories of art and writing for their chance to earn scholarships, and to have their works exhibited and published. Founded in 1923, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is the most prestigious recognition and scholarship program for creative teens.
